Your data
Deleting your data from Chatloom.
Chatloom runs AI chatbots for businesses on their websites, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger and Instagram. Here's how to have your data deleted, whoever you are.
If you chatted with a business
When you message a business that uses Chatloom (on its website, or on WhatsApp, Messenger or Instagram), Chatloom stores the conversation and any details you shared, such as your name, email, phone number or Instagram username, on that business's behalf.
To have this deleted:
- Ask the business. They can find and delete everything held about you in their Chatloom dashboard in a few clicks.
- Or email us at [email protected] with the subject "Data deletion request", and tell us:
- the name of the business you chatted with
- how you chatted (website, WhatsApp, Messenger or Instagram)
- the email address, phone number, or Facebook or Instagram name you used
We'll confirm the request with the business and delete your conversations, contact details, messages and bookings held for it. We reply within one month, and usually much sooner. We may ask you to confirm it's really you before deleting anything.
If you connected Facebook, Instagram or WhatsApp
Businesses can connect their Facebook Page, Instagram account or WhatsApp number to Chatloom so their chatbot can reply there. To remove that connection and the data that comes with it:
- In Chatloom: open your chatbot, go to Deploy, and click Disconnect on the channel. We delete Chatloom's access keys for that account straight away and stop receiving its messages.
- On Facebook: go to Settings & privacy → Settings → Business integrations and remove Chatloom.
- On Instagram: go to Settings → Apps and websites and remove Chatloom.
- For WhatsApp: in Meta Business Suite → Settings → Integrations (or WhatsApp Manager), remove Chatloom's access to your WhatsApp Business account.
When you remove Chatloom on Facebook or Instagram, Meta tells us, and we delete the connection automatically. Conversations already in your Chatloom inbox stay there until you delete them or your chat retention period ends. To delete them sooner, delete the chats in Chat logs or use the privacy tools in your dashboard, or email us at [email protected].
If you have a Chatloom account
- Delete your account: sign in and go to Profile → Delete account.
- Delete a workspace (and all its chatbots, sources, chats, leads and connections): go to Team → Danger zone as the workspace owner.
- Delete individual data: chats in Chat logs, leads and contacts in Leads and contacts, and sources in Sources can each be deleted on their own.
After an account or workspace is deleted, we remove its data from our systems within 30 days, and from backups as they expire (within four weeks after that). We keep only what the law requires, such as billing records for tax and accounting.
